Firewatch Hits Nintendo Switch Later This Month (VIDEO)

We haven’t heard much about the goings-ons of developer Campo Santo for a while now, having last left fans with the reveal of a new game by the name of In the Valley of Gods. The months since have likely been occupied with fine tuning said upcoming title, but it also appears the studio’s previous effort Firewatch has also been underway for the Nintendo Switch.

The story-driven fire lookout simulator was recently given a release date for the Switch, the launch officially being set for December 17th. Announced via Twitter, the post shows a tiny sliver of of the game being played undocked, all while a forest campfire crackles nearby. Check out the video below.

Confirmed in a few follow-up posts, Camp Santo themselves revealed the new port of Firewatch is to largely keep with fan expectations. Previously debuting in the Xbox One version, extras such as Audio Tour and Free Roam mode were assured to make a return and pricing was stated to be in line with other available platforms, which currently sits at $19.99.

As Camp Santo was notably acquired by Valve earlier this year, many assumed this would mark the Steam publisher’s official debut on Big N’s hybrid system. However it seems this isn’t exactly the case, with publisher Panic still attached to release this next version of Firewatch.

Firewatch hits Nintendo Switch on December 17th. The game is currently available for Linux, Mac, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
