Final Fantasy XV Port For Nintendo Switch Advertised On GameStopTV

The will-they-won’t-they saga regarding a potential Final Fantasy XV port for the Nintendo Switch has just had a very interesting development. While shopping at a local GameStop, Twitter user “adam is at home” noticed something intriguing while watching an ad on GameStopTV. An advertisement for Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition was playing, and the platforms listed for the upcoming title were PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch. The Twitter user sent out a Tweet that has since then been deleted, though the picture yet remains:

Final Fantasy XV port for Nintendo Switch?

Of course this could very easily just be a mistake, though the team behind Final Fantasy XV has in the past looked into the possibility of getting the game onto the Switch. Game director Hajime Tabata has always been evasive when answering questions in regards to a potential Final Fantasy XV port for the Switch, though back in September he revealed that he and his team were conducting “very specific technical investigations” to see if a Switch port were even possible. “One thing we value is to optimise the way the game plays and the experience for the individual hardware it’s on rather than a one-size fits all approach,” Tabata said back in September. “We can’t currently announce anything – we haven’t come to a full decision on the best way to do it yet.”

Final Fantasy XV is currently available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition arrives on PC on March 6, and Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition is now available for Android and iOS devices.
