Final Fantasy VII Remake Screenshots Reveal A New Side Of Midgar

Ever since the reveal of the explosive new gameplay trailers that aired at E3 2019, Square Enix seems more determined than ever to show off how absolutely amazing the Final Fantasy VII Remake looks. To that end, the Japanese publisher has released a brand new batch of screenshots enticing us with not just a unique look at the city of Midgar, but a fresh look at some of the game’s iconic characters as well.

Released earlier today by Square Enix, the new visuals are comprised of a mixed bag of action shots, character close-ups, and shots of Midgar. The gameplay shots in particular are stunning, given that they appear to be real-time rendered on the PS4. Check ’em out below:

As mentioned, Square Enix also released a few shots of some of the characters from the game. Those that were worried that the developer wouldn’t do the original game justice seemingly needn’t worry, as the remake appears to be shaping up exactly the way we’ve always wanted it to be.

In related news, Sony revealed today that there is a an exclusive PlayStation 4 dynamic theme up for grabs for those that choose to pre-order the Final Fantasy VII Remake through the PlayStation Store. The theme displays some of the earliest revealed artwork for the remake, featuring both Cloud and Sephiroth. Those interested in getting the theme can do so by pre-ordering the standard edition of the game right here.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake launches exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020.
