Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo Has A Secret Ending

While the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake is still about a month away, fans have been able to scratch that decades-long itch by playing the recently released playable demo, which features an enjoyable stink into Mako Reactor 1. Although the pathing is basically the same as from the original game, it has been revealed that the demo itself also has a secret ending, though you may have gotten it without even realizing it was a secret.

In order to snag the secret ending to the Final Fantasy VII Remake demo, players must make a choice when Cloud begins to plant the bomb on the reactor. Choosing 20 minutes instead of 30 minutes first prompts a different exchange between Cloud and Barret, and afterwards, once the bombing mission has been concluded, those that went with a 20 minute time limit are given a brief cutscene featuring the One-Winged Angel himself, Sephiroth.

As mentioned, the secret ending doesn’t really feel like a “secret” since it’s so easy to unlock, and it would’ve made sense for Square Enix to have offered up that exclusive peek regardless of the bomb timer decision. Still, it offers something unique for those that had faith in their abilities to escape the reactor, and seeing Sephiroth in all his spooky glory has us more than hyped for the actual release of the Final Fantasy VII Remake next month.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake is slated to release exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on April 10, 2020.
