Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius Anniversary Celebration Features New Content, Free Loot, and More

FF Brave Exvius Anniversary

The last time mobile game Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius made headlines, it was to announce a collaborative effort between publisher Square Enix and pop singer Ariana Grande earlier this year, which culminated in the game’s ‘Dangerous Woman Tour’ event featuring a special in-game character called Dangerous Ariana. Now, fast-forwarding several months later, game developer Gumi is celebrating FFBE‘s one-year anniversary with a huge in-game event chock full of free stuff and new content for those who play the free-to-play RPG. According to Square Enix, the Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius anniversary event will feature “the largest set of giveaways in [the] game’s history.”

As a prelude to the anniversary event, FFBE received an update this morning that added some new features to the game, the biggest of which is the new Expeditions system. It has players send out their inactive character units on missions in order to accumulate experience and bring back rewards, not unlike the Fleet missions in Assassin’s Creed: Rogue and Black Flag. Each mission has varying degrees of difficulty and makes specific recommendations that will help players figure out which types of units are the best to send out. One such example would be a mission calling for level 3 black magic users, which would suggest that units like Kefka, Exdeath, and Terra to be perfect units for the highest percent success rate.

Beginning on June 23 and running through June 28, players will be able to run through the game’s main story content while only spending half of the normal NRG (stamina) amount needed. This is a boon for both new players and veterans of the game as a significant amount of new story content was released this morning, coinciding with the rest of the Final Fantasy Brave Exvius anniversary event countdown.

Just in time for summer, Square Enix has also announced that there will be summer-themed versions of main storyline characters available to summon starting tomorrow. Fina, Dark Fina, and Lid will each have summer themes and players will also obtain Trust Moogles when performing a summon for them.

Speaking of summoning, the Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius anniversary event will also feature its own purchasable bundle which contains 10,000 Lapis (in-game currency), a five-star Trust Moogle, and other items all at a 50% discount. Square Enix is also giving players a free 10 + 1 Summon, which essentially means that players will be able to summon 11 units for free once during the event which normally costs roughly $40. Additionally, players will also be able to perform the daily rare summon for free from June 29 to July 26.

Lastly, Square Enix is also doing a one-time guaranteed five-star unit summon – players that choose to purchase this 11-unit summon draw will be guaranteed a five-star unit from the current pull of available five-stars, including Gilgamesh, Noctis, Lightning, and Vargas.
