New Final Fantasy XV: Comrades Release Date Announced By Square Enix

New Final Fantasy XV: Comrades Release Date Announced

Fans looking forward to the upcoming Final Fantasy XV: Comrades multiplayer expansion were saddened to hear last month that Square Enix had pushed out its original release date of October 31st. The Japanese publisher had its reasons, though, stating that the delay was “due to final adjustments & to create the best possible experience.” Fast-forwarding a few weeks later and Square Enix has announced that the new Comrades release date is November 15th. The announcement was made just a few hours ago over on the official FFXV Twitter account.

Final Fantasy XV: Comrades has players step into the shoes of a Kingsglaive soldier, tasked with defending the people and “bringing the Light back to Lucis”. While there is admittedly a focus on team-based questing with personalized Kingsglaive avatars, Comrades will also feature single-player quests and missions for your character, which should please those looking to go solo.

The new Comrades release date isn’t the only new news for Final Fantasy XV. Square Enix has also announced that Xbox One X support for Final Fantasy XV has been added, and is ready to roll alongside the Xbox One X’s release. The update will feature a “higher quality” FFXV, along with a new feature that will allow players to accept multiple quests at a time. Thankfully the new quality of life feature is not an Xbox One X exclusive, with the minor update also coming to the PS4 on Friday, November 10th.

In addition to FFXV: Comrades, players can also look forward to the previously revealed ‘Windows Edition’ and ‘Pocket Edition’ of FFXV, arriving on PC and mobile devices, respectively. For those that prefer to stick with the original console experience, fans can also look forward to the arrival of Episode Ignis, which will be available for purchase and download next month, on December 13.
