Free February 2018 PlayStation Plus Games Officially Revealed
The time for the changing of the months is upon us. With the arrival of a new set of weeks mere hours away, it’s time to start getting excited about the upcoming bounty that gamers are to receive through subscription services. When it comes to the Sony camp, we’ve already seen a leak that pinned Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin and Far Cry 4 as the free February 2018 PlayStation Plus games, but that has since been debunked.
The official announcement has arrived, however, and it definitely packs a punch. Even though February is the shortest month of the year, Sony has made sure that fans will be able to fill their time wisely with more gaming. Knack and RiME are the two major titles that are leading the charge, the former of which is a PS4 exclusive with a ton of heart. More details on each of these games can be seen below:
Knack (PS4):
Mankind must turn to Knack, an unlikely hero, to protect them from a dangerous new threat. The unassuming Knack stands at a mere three feet tall, but thanks to the power of mysterious ancient relics, he can transform into a powerful brute or even a gigantic wrecking machine. Knack is mankind’s only hope for turning the tide against the invading goblin army, but trying to harness the true power of the relics could threaten to put the whole world at risk. From Mark Cerny, one of the greatest minds in video games today, Knack is a fun-filled adventure of colossal proportions that invites players to wield fantastic powers and discover a unique and vibrant world, available exclusively for PlayStation®4.”
RiME (PS4):
A land of discovery stretches out before you. Explore the beautiful yet rugged world of RiME, a single-player puzzle adventure. In RiME, you play as a young boy who has awakened on a mysterious island after a torrential storm. You see wild animals, long-forgotten ruins and a massive tower that beckons you to come closer. Armed with your wits and a will to overcome—and the guidance of a helpful fox—you must explore the enigmatic island, reach the tower’s peak, and unlock its closely guarded secrets. “
Of course, these aren’t the only video games being offered for free in the February 2018 PlayStation Plus lineup. Spelunker HD and Mugen Souls Z will both be available for PlayStation 3 players. The first will allow gamers to “Evade enemies, unlock vaults and amass treasure as you wind deep below the surface of the earth.” However, as the description points out, “Death is the only reward for failure.” As for the latter of the two, “Join the super-powerful undisputed goddess, Chou-Chou, as she continues her quest to conquer the twelve Zodiac worlds and make everyone and everything her peon,” is about all you need to get excited.
On the Vita side of things, players will be getting their hands on two awesome titles. Exiles End and Grand Kingdom are both being up for grabs in the February 2018 PlayStation Plus lineup, the latter of which is also available on PS4. VR players needn’t worry as they haven’t been neglected. Those who wish to participate will be able to “fight for glory, credits, and your life” in Starblood Arena. Sounds like fun!
That about does it for the free games being offered in the February 2018 PlayStation Plus lineup. It’s not a leap year, so you’ve only got 28 days to grab these titles at no cost.
