Far Cry 5: Dead Living Zombies DLC Gets A New Trailer (VIDEO)
Far Cry 5 is one hell of a thrill ride that gives players plenty to do, moreso with the addition of the DLC packs Ubisoft has been releasing for their shoot-em-up. Players have trudged through the war-torn jungles of Vietnam to the Alien-infested surface of Mars so far, but now Ubisoft is returning to an FPS trope we can all get behind: Zombies. Check out the new trailer for the next Far Cry 5 DLC, Dead Living Zombies.
While we don’t know much about how the actual moment to moment gameplay of the DLC will play out, we did get a short little description from the video posted on Ubisoft North America’s YouTube channel: “Team up with a friend and fight your way through ravenous zombie hordes in seven thrilling cinematic scenarios.” In the trailer we see a lot of scary lookin’ ghouls, undead dogs, and I think we even saw the return of a BLOOD DRAGON?!?!?
Ubisoft pitches the story as being developed by their in-universe B-movie director “Guy Marvel” who will be adapting the classic Shakespearean play Romeo & Juliet into a zombie movie. That might be what the overall structure of the DLC is framed around.
“7 combat scenarios” doesn’t sound like it’ll be letting players off the leash to roam around a zombie-infested Hope County. This is all speculation of course so who knows what the actual structure surrounding the content will be like, but maybe a linear structure could be for the better.
If Ubisoft wanted to lean into the campy B-movie story surrounding the DLC, it would probably be best to give players 7 focused missions that give their audience a well-crafted experience. For reference, the other DLC packs did feature side missions and a little bit of free roaming in the Vietnam and Mars areas. We’ll see if Ubisoft can hit another home run when Far Cry 5: Dead Living Zombies releases on August 28th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. If you have the Season Pass, you’re all set!
