‘Fallout 76’ Has Red Dead-Style Treasure Maps (VIDEO)
With Fallout 76 just one month away, fans are getting closer and closer to sinking their teeth into the West Virginia-infused entry in Bethesda’s popular series. Now, it appears that players can also search for treasure while enjoying all that Fallout 76 has to offer. During a recent event held by the developer in West Virginia (of course), it was revealed that there are dozens of treasure maps that can be found within the game, all of which lead to buried treasure.
The news comes by way of PC Gamer, which recently posted a video of their squad finding a treasure map while in an abandoned mine. The map itself looks an awful lot like those seen in Red Dead Redemption, sporting shoddily-drawn scenery complete with an ‘X’ that marks the spot. The same can be said about the treasure maps found in Skyrim, though the ones in Fallout 76 appear to have a bit more detail. Check out the treasure hunting in the video below:
Seen in the video, the treasure map “Forest Treasure Map #08” was discovered in a Steamer Trunk within an abandoned mine. Once the player takes the map, it is automatically added to the Data section of their Pip-Boy, at which point they can then go searching for the scenery depicted on the paper. According to Bethesda, this particular map is one of the earliest and easiest ones to come by, and as such the treasure is only a brief walk from where the map was found.
Treasure maps are more often than not enjoyable additions to games, and their appearance in Fallout 76 should add even more fun and excitement to a title seemingly jam-packed with content, including dragons!
Fallout 76 launches for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 14, 2018.
