‘Extended’ Xbox Games Showcase Is Coming Next Week Too
This summer’s big announcement proceedings are currently in their beginning stages with several big reveals already taking place across Sony’s State of Play presentation and Netflix’s week-long movie, TV, and gaming celebrations. Of course, the next seven days are set to culminate in Sunday’s Xbox & Bethesda Showcase, which is teased to yield all sorts of big announcements, including, but definitely not limited to, a new batch of titles being added to Xbox Game Pass.
With all that said, it appears Microsoft is planning a follow-up event for after this weekend’s show. As per Xbox Wire, Team Green will premiere another lengthy event called Xbox Games Showcase Extended on June 14th (10am PT), bringing “new trailers” as well as “deeper looks” at the announcements from the main Bethesda-co-hosted presentation. In all, the show is expected to last around 90 minutes, featuring support for English, Latin America Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German, and French, as well as Audio Descriptions and American Sign Language.
Following the closure of Microsoft’s big Bethesda acquisition in 2021, the Xbox brand has flaunted the iconic RPG publisher on countless occasions to take full advantage of its purchase, whether be adding every Bethesda title to Xbox Game Pass, developing exclusive projects, or throwing co-headlined events like these. 2022 marks the second Xbox & Bethesda Showcase to be presented by the company, and next year’s proceedings might grow that much bigger following its planned acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
As this new “extended” Xbox showcase hinges on what appears this Sunday, it’s not completely known what may appear during the stream. However, with so many projects in the pipeline, it’s a no-brainer to expect some games for the event, including the Bethesda-developed space RPG Starfield, and the Arkane-made action-packed vampire shooter Redfall following the two title’s recent delay. The Vin Diesel-led Ark 2 is also confirmed to make a showing at the event, as per the game’s French social media account.
