Free Homestead Update Launches for ‘The Elder Scrolls Online’ Players on PS4 and Xbox One (VIDEO)

Homestead update

The Elder Scrolls Online free Homestead update finally makes its way to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One console players! Earlier this month, Bethesda launched the patch for PC users and introduced hidden interior designers to a new world in ESO. Homes can be purchased with gold or crowns, furnished or unfurnished, and decorated with more than 2,000 different options. Whether you want to embellish your delightful domicile with barrels, wine bottles, plants, lights, or bookshelves – it is all there. Of course, a tad more work had to be done before it could go live for console players. This free DLC gives you the opportunity to own all the homes you want! Want an in-depth introduction? Check out the video below:

Each purchase is account-bound so all characters can reap the benefits of a cozy base. Everyone can even get their very first place free of charge! It’s not a mansion, but it’s hard to beat a price like gratis. By obtaining a quest titled “A Friend in Need”, players can get their own inn to decorate any which way. There are 3 different paths to take in order to begin the journey toward home ownership, but we warned! It may be a long one.

Here are 3 Different Ways to Get a Free Inn:

  1. Head on over to the crown store and purchase the free A Friend in Need housing brochure quest ticket, then you’re on your merry way!
  2. Meet a Wood Elf Housing Broker who goes by the name of Canthion. He can be found in the first major city of your character’s alliance (Daggerfall, Davon’s Watch, or Vulkhel Guard).
  3. Take a flyer nearby or inside every major bank within the core game titled “Housing Brochure”.

Not too shabby, right? The Homestead update introduces 39 different options – from mansions, to in rooms, to apartments, and more. As expected, the bigger the place is, the more expensive it will be. For example, available for purchase through the Crown Store is a manor called “Serenity Falls Estate”. It will run you 12,500 crowns, or 3,775,000 gold (furnished). Hot damn! Can you say expensive? There are also mud houses and various other units all across Tamriel that players can just walk in and visit. Once inside, press F5 to check out the details regarding ownership requirements and asking price.
