Epic Games Store Adding Mods, Achievements, Cloud Saves, And More

It appears that the Epic Games Store is about to get some new features in its ongoing bid to establish digital distribution dominance. The store itself is admittedly still a bit bare-boned, and now Epic Games is looking to take a few pages out of Steam’s playbook with the introduction of several experience-enhancing features, with the time range on said features spanning between 1-3 months all the way to 6 months and beyond.

The news comes by way of the publicly available Epic Games Store roadmap over on Trello, wherein a full breakdown of both recently shipped features and upcoming additions is displayed. Some of these newly shipped features include a store search feature, offline mode functionality, and improvements to code redemption. Going out to an estimated ship time of April, users can expect a store redesign, improvements to the store’s offline mode, and more.

Moving out 4-6 months, the store will be getting a user reviews feature and price adjusting bundles, in addition to the implementation of wishlists. Once we get to 6 months out and further down the line. the Epic Games Store will also seek to implement achievements, a feature that surprisingly isn’t coming any sooner. That said, given that some features like additional payment methods and an actual shopping cart have yet to be put it, the prioritization makes sense.

So, thoughts on the roadmap for the Epic Games Store? What other features are you hoping they’ll implement in the future? Hoping for anymore game exclusives in the future?
