Elder Scrolls Online Crossplay Desires Continue To Mount, According To Studio
The Elder Scrolls series is one of the most well-known franchises in the games industry. Despite the teaser of TES: VI in 2018, the community won’t be seeing it come to life anytime soon, but Todd Howard is confident that it will be another entry designed for fans to enjoy for “a decade at least.” With that said, the folks in charge of The Elder Scrolls Online are determined to whip out fresh new content for TESO in the meantime and they’re fully aware of the persistent desire for crossplay.
Aside from the successful reception of the latest Elsweyr expansion, fans are dying to see the MMORPG move forward. “I figured that’s where that was going to go,” said ZeniMax Online creative director Rich Lambert in response to Wccftech’s query on crossplay. “We know this is kind of what players want. And we are starting to see more and more announcements about it. We don’t have anything on the roadmap currently, but we’re aware.”
It turns out ZeniMax is fully aware of the community’s sought after request for crossplay features, but it’s not in development quite yet. As seen with the back and forth between Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo, crossplay continuously trends as a popular demand within the gaming community. Large online titles like The Elder Scrolls Online may take longer to develop these capabilities, but here’s to hoping it arrives sooner than later!
