Dragon Quest Builders 2 Officially Announced For PS4 and Nintendo Switch (VIDEO)

Dragon Quest Builders 2

Even despite being one of the most popular video game franchises in Japan, most of its fanbase could likely have never predicted the various expansions that the Dragon Quest series would embark upon. Aside from the ever popular main RPG entries, we’ve seen the series grow with the Koei Tecmo-produced Dragon Quest Heroes spinoff games, as well as Dragon Quest Builders, which saw the game’s universe re-imagined in the vein of Minecraft-style building and exploration. Now, it appears that this particular spinoff proved to be successful, as Dragon Quest Heroes 2 has now officially been announced.

Square Enix made the official announcement for Dragon Quest Heroes 2 in the YouTube video seen above that premiered during the recent Dragon Quest Summer Festival 2017 event. The sequel is slated to arrive to PlayStation 4, as well as Nintendo Switch, seemingly taking the place of the previous games’ use of the PlayStation Vita. There is no mention of any story details for the sequel, so it is not clear if the storyline of the orginal title will come into play at all or not. What is seen is a continuation of the mechanics introduced in the first Builders game, as well as several new features.

Some of the new features shown include the ability to build blocks three times higher and lower, swimming and underwater item collecting abilities, and gliding from high distances. What has remained for the series is the same adorable Minecraft-inspired visual style of the world of Alefgard. What do you guys think about the Dragon Quest Builders 2 announcement?
