Dragon Ball FighterZ Season 2 Announced, New DLC Characters Confirmed (VIDEO)
An epic tournament of Dragon Ball FighterZ has been underway at the vibrant World Tour Finals over the last few days, with many of the fighting game’s most skilled players duking it out for the top spot. Following the exciting eSports hubbub, Bandai Namco took the opportunity to announce a new season of Dragon Ball FighterZ as well as a number of new DLC characters set to arrive in the game.
The next Dragon Ball characters to let loose in FighterZ have been confirmed to be the previously teased Jiren alongside the addition of Gohan’s partner in justice Videl. A trailer, which can be viewed below, shows off the two characters’ upcoming addition alongside some spiffly-looking gameplay. However, it appears the video doesn’t end without including yet another exciting tease…
Yep, the unstoppable beast Broly and the fused hero Gogeta are also making their entry into Dragon Ball FighterZ. Differing from the brutish behemoth fans have seen in the past, this version of Broly will sport his canonized appearance from the recent film Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Gogeta also reprises his fused form of Goku and Vegeta from the big-screen outing, enhanced further by an ascended state of Super Saiyan Blue.
As the initial round of characters for Season 2, Jiren and Videl are scheduled to go live first, the above trailer confirming a release for next week on January 31st. While included in the announcement, Broly and Gogeta hasn’t been given a launch date as of yet but appear to have a release planned for sometime afterwards. Dragon Ball FighterZ is out now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
