Fallout And Dragon Age Series Composer To Create Music For Fallout 76

Everyone knows music amplifies gameplay and makes it a memorable experience for the player. Take Xbox’s Halo series for example, where the main soundtrack that sends goosebumps over your skin with its signature opera chorus. There are TV, movies, and video games that are timeless due in part by its gameplay and music. And safe to say, the same goes for Fallout and Dragon Age as Inon Zur will reprise in his role to create music for Fallout 76.

According to Variety, Zur is an Emmy award winner and three-time nominee for BAFTA (British Academy Film Awards), and he is ready to “weave” another “emotional score” to remember. Since Fallout 76 will be a new experience for the series for its multiplayer feature and overall vastness compared to New Vegas and 4, Zur has his work cut out for him.

With inspiration from game director Todd Howard and close collaboration with audio director Mark Lampert, I weaved a sophisticated and emotional score that takes the player on a whole new journey. To make the experience even more epic, we had the Budapest Film Orchestra perform and record the score, as well as the amazing Lyris String Quartet. I believe that this is one of my most unique scores to date and I can’t wait to share it with everyone!”

Aside from the critically-acclaimed Fallout and Dragon Age series, Zur also whipped up the soundtracks for the Prince of Persia franchise. Other notable works in video games include Dragon’s Dogma, the EverQuest series, Soulcalibur V, and Rift among others. He’s won multiple awards throughout his career for original work with film and documentaries.

Equally excited for this task is Bethesda Games Studio’s audio director, Mark Lampert. We’re very excited to have Inon Zur back as the composer for ‘Fallout 76,’” he told Variety. “His work helps create that familiar ‘Fallout’ sound that roots us in the series, but also sculpts and evolves that sound toward the elements that make ‘Fallout 76’ unique: working together to rebuild, looking to the future, and the dramatic, rolling landscape of West Virginia. We look forward to everyone getting the chance to enjoy this music and the game world as we did while putting it all together.”
