DFTG Recaps The Week’s Biggest TV/Movie Trailers: March 6th

A new week means a new batch of trailers to get us hyped for the movies and TV ahead. The week of March 7th was pretty dominated by Disney, having debuted new trailers for the Wreck-It Ralph sequel, an all new Mary Poppins adventure, and a fascinating new trailer for Marvel’s upcoming Cloak and Dagger. DFTG recaps the biggest TV and movie trailers of the week in the list below:

Fahrenheit 451

Fresh from the epic success of Black Panther, actor Micheal B. Jordan is shifting his desire to burn down Wakanda to setting fire to society’s knowledge-bringing books in Fahrenheit 451. Based on the classic story by Ray Bradbury, the trailer for this new adaptation presents a dark futuristic tone that is almost eerie in how relevant its themes still ring true today. Fahrenheit 451 will premiere on HBO in May.

Legion – Season 2

New episodes are on the the way for the trippy superhero show Legion and the marketing campaign is refusing to let up in its supreme strangeness. While typically remaining unhelpful about what’s happening in the upcoming season, a new trailer unsettlingly hints at the drastic change in store for protagonist David following his release from insanity in last year’s finale. Season 2 of Legion premieres on FX on April 3rd.

Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger – Season 1

Marvel is bringing all the angst in the the upcoming Cloak and Dagger, retelling the comic book story of two very different teenagers who develop equally opposing powers. A new trailer highlights the pair’s lives after gaining their light and dark abilities, portraying them side-by-side to fascinating effect. Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger premieres on Freeform on June 7th.

Mary Poppins Returns

Who doesn’t love Disney’s Mary Poppins? Besides P. L. Travers, the answer is “very few”. An all-new movie continuing the family classic is on the horizon and the week-ending Oscars celebration provided the first look at the upcoming film. Starring actress Emily Blunt in the title role, the short video teases plenty of magic and no shortage of whimsy to spare. Mary Poppins Returns hits theaters on December 25th.

Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2

Not content with just one trailer this week, Disney also put out a hilarious new footage of Wreck-It Ralph 2, a.k.a. Ralph Breaks the Internet. We catch up with the everyone’s favorite good bad guy Ralph and the lovably mischievous Vanellope von Schweetz as they venture into the chasm of the internet and horrifically explode a bunny. That escalated quickly. Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 hits theaters on November 21st.
