New Devil May Cry Mobile Game Announced, Coming To A Select Region Next Year

Well, this is certainly not what most expect to be next in line for this original Capcom published game. According to the developer themselves, the upcoming regional Devil May Cry mobile game is titled Devil May Cry: Pinnacle of Combat. Though not the most well-known studio around, they have been given the rights and green light to create an original gameplay experience for smartphones. For fans of the franchise, this has been created exclusively for China with no particular indication for an international release.

Thanks to MMO Culture, select previews and screenshots have been revealed and can be viewed right above. Safe to say, the game looks pretty good, but a DMC game for the mobile platforms wasn’t what most were probably expecting. Fans having long-awaited a sequel or continuation of some sort for this famed franchise for years, but here’s to hoping that Capcom will have surprises in store for the future.

Devil May Cry: Pinnacle of Combat is an action-RPG slated for release in 2018, and powered by the Unity 3D game engine. Up to this point, details on the story and gameplay are nonexistent. However, Yunchang Game revealed that the focus will be on online “team battles” and “real-time PVP”. According to the official website, their portfolio includes a Sword Art Online mobile game that was created for both Android and iOS systems, whose rights were purportedly greenlit by original publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment.
