New DC Game Planned For Release In 2019

Ever since the definitive end of Rocksteady Studios‘ Batman Arkham series, the next big title to carry the DC brand has been a hot topic of speculation among fans. Varying reports have since suggested ‘Arkham Origins’ developer WB Games Montreal have at least one major DC game in the works, with the rumored adventure expected to feature heroes such as Superman, Batman, or perhaps even the entire Justice League.

While much of those rumors remain to be seen, WB Montreal undoubtedly has something something cooking over there and it looks like we could expect it to drop sometime next year. According to the forums of ResetEra, a listing for “Project 2019” was discovered in the LinkedIn profile for 3D animator Ricardo Alex-Vincent, who has been an employee of WB Montreal since 2017.

Sure, this isn’t expressed confirmation that WB Games Montreal will indeed release a DC game in 2019, but it is a good indicator of the studio’s plans, which haven’t always been as clear in the past. At one point, a supposed Suicide Squad game was considered all but confirmed back in 2016, but the project was cancelled before a reveal could ever be made. Other speculated games such as a Damian Wayne Batman adventure and a new entry in the Arkham series were also the subject of speculation, but were ultimately never realized.
