DayZ PlayStation 4 Release Date Still Undecided, Coming Soon To Xbox One
It has been a while since we’ve heard anything from DayZ, aside from expected updates, events, and news of it leaving early access this year in November. At the same time, lead producer Eugen Harton revealed that the console releases for the game should be expected in 2018. Seeing as this will be “an important year” for the studio, they’re likely hard at work planning the logistics behind ports. With that being said, there’s some good news and there’s some bad news and starting with the latter – DayZ PlayStation 4’s release date is still undecided for the most part, but will come “eventually”.
Xbox One owners, on the other hand, can expect DayZ to arrive to Xbox Game Preview “at some point this year”. Even though a date has not been specified, plans are moving forward more swiftly for this platform than the aforementioned. Both consoles have this statement from the development team:
Yes! Coming to Xbox Game Preview at some point this year, we’re not sure about PS4 yet, but we’ll release there too, eventually – just don’t know when yet.

The responses to this are heavily mixed from players of all three platforms. PC players are rather bitter that the game seems relatively incomplete to be leaving its early access stage, and that a move toward consoles before “completing” it seem like they’re spreading out the team too thin. Meanwhile, respective console owners are excited to see how DayZ will look, but it has taken a lot longer than expected.
What do you think of this news for DayZ PlayStation 4’s release? Are you hoping in comes sooner than “eventually”? Do you think people have moved on to PlayerUnknown’s Battleground or is there enough of a difference between the two?
