Cyberpunk 2077 Delayed Again, But Not By Much

Cyberpunk 2077 Release Delay November

Fans have been waiting for years when it comes to Cyberpunk 2077, the upcoming futuristic RPG from CD Projekt RED. The game was originally set to release back in April, but was delayed until September 17th. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, the devs have had to delay it once more, but it isn’t by much.

CDPR recently took to Twitter to announce the delay for Cyberpunk 2077, which is a mere two months. The good news is, the game is practically done. The devs revealed that in terms of “both content and gameplay-wise,” it’s finished. However, due to the complexity of everything that is going on in the game, they need a bit more time to handle bugs and make some balance changes.

“At the time we are writing these words, Cyberpunk 2077 is finished both content and gameplay-wise,” the message reads. “The quests, the cutscenes, the skills and items; all the adventures Night City has to offer – it’s all there. But with such an abundance of content and complex systems interweaving with each other, we need to properly go through everything, balance game mechanics and fix a lot of bugs. A huge world means a huge number of things to iron out and we will spend the additional time doing exactly that.”

CD Projekt RED acknowledged the heat they will catch for the delay and they are aware that trust won’t exactly be as stable as it once was. At the end of the day, however, it’s best to receive a more complete and fixed game than one that is buggy beyond belief.

Cyberpunk 2077 will now be arriving on November 19th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Next up, the Night City Wire presentation will be taking place on June 25th, where fans will be receiving more information about the upcoming game.
