Cyberpunk 2077 Gets Gorgeous New Trailer At E3 2018 (VIDEO)

Cyberpunk 2077

We got looks at big-ticket titles Halo Infinite, Metro Exodus, and more during Microsoft’s press conference, but there was one game shown that people have been waiting a while to see. It comes from a studio who’s produced two of the most influential RPG titles ever created in Witcher 2 and 3. That’s right, we finally got to see Cyberpunk 2077 in action. CD Projekt RED took to the stage to deliver the news about their forthcoming game.

The reveal came as part of the last showing of the Xbox press conference, and there is a lot to talk about. The trailer shows a subway with a man talking about how their city was voted worst to live in America, and boy does he look right in that assessment. We see some shots of a guy getting his head kicked in under pale street lights, a neon-soaked bar with a pool-playing cyborg, and more.

We also see people short-circuiting, others in simulation goggles, flying cars and traditional ones with Knight rider designs, and a whole lot more. What surprised me the most in this sizzle real was the brightness of the world. Considering most cyberpunk I’ve experienced has a dour, rainy weather to it, this looks like a refreshing change of atmosphere. There was also some fantastic pulsating music and gorgeous city-scapes, so overall this trailer is a feast for the eyes and ears. Check it out below:

So, what do you think? Is this the game you’ve been hoping for since we first heard of its existence in 2012? CDPR seems really committed to delivering fantastical world experiences, so expecting the same from this game seems not too far fetched. Seeing this game made real for the first time really is something considering all 6 years of speculation and the meteoric rise in CDPR’s popularity since its initial announcement.

We’ll see if Cyberpunk 2077 can meet those sky-high expectations when it is released next year for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Be sure to follow DFTG on Twitter for live gaming and entertainment news 24/7!
