Cyberpunk 2077 Devs: "We Are Going To Make You Cry"

Cyberpunk 2077 had its last big showing at E3 2019, where CD Projekt RED busted out its wild card – Keanu freakin’ Reeves – to present a brand new game trailer to the masses. So, besides the feeling of being absolutely breathtaking, what other ranges of emotions will players be able to experience during their playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077? Well, according to CD Projekt RED, the story will (hopefully) make you cry.

Cyberpunk 2077 lead quest designer Pawel Sasko recently sat down with the folks at Game Reactor to discuss the developer’s particular brand of questing, bringing up the infamous Bloody Baron quest from The Witcher 3. Game Reactor asked if fans can look forward to the same kind of high quality emotionally-driven questing that they’ve come to expect from the studio. “Oh I hope so! Believe me guys, what we are doing here – we are going to make you cry, there’s no other way,” Sasko said. “Believe me, we’ll do everything to just grab the player and keep them glued to the screen.”

I think there’s gonna be joy, there’s gonna be tears, and there’s gonna be laughter, and yeah there’s gonna be anger. We are going to give you all that, because this is what we are doing. Like that’s one of my main goals – I wanna move the players, like they are going to feel it so hard, and we are coming for you.”

So that’s the word, CD Projekt RED is coming for our emotions. It shouldn’t be too bad as long as they send Keanu Reeves to soothe our aching hearts. Cyberpunk 2077 launches for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on April 16, 2020.
