Cyberpunk 2077 Cross-Saves Processes For PlayStation And Xbox Revealed
In just a few weeks, gamers across the world will unite in excitement over the long-awaited release of CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077. The developer became a big figure in the gaming industry thanks to their success with the highly praised The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and now they look to build upon that success with Cyberpunk. With the next generation of gaming consoles already out, recently released gameplay footage shows Cyberpunk 2077 will run beautifully on them. However, many will likely be playing the game on current-gen devices and upgrading at a later date. Thankfully, CD Projekt Red has confirmed Cyberpunk 2077 cross-saves will be available, and has detailed how to transfer them between generations of consoles.
Attention console players!
If you start playing #Cyberpunk2077 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you will be able to continue playing it on a corresponding next-gen console. Here’s how the cross-saves will work:

CD Projekt Red recently made the announcement regarding Cyberpunk 2077 cross-saves and how to use them on their official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account. They have confirmed that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners that have Cyberpunk 2077 save files will be able to transfer those save files over to their PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game, respectively. It should be noted that this means that any other combination of cross-generational transfers cannot be made, such as PS4 to Xbox Series X or Xbox One to PS5 transfers. CD Projekt Red also provided links describing the separate processes available for Xbox and PlayStation.
Xbox has the easier Cyberpunk 2077 cross-saves method, as players that have both generations of Xboxes Microsoft’s Smart Delivery program should have their Xbox One files saved to the cloud automatically for the Series X to access. The Xbox files can also be transferred on the same network through the system network transfer option. For PlayStation, there are several ways, with the easiest being uploading the PS4 save files to the cloud and downloaded to the PS5, with the caveat being that the user must have access to PlayStation Plus to do so. The other PlayStation methods include file transfers through LAN cable, WiFi connection or a compatible external storage device.
It’s great to know that CD Projekt Red has provided a way for fans to transfer their saves between generations of consoles. Being able to pull this off feels like a real Cyberpunk hacker move in real life! Cyberpunk 2077 is slated to release on December 10 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia.
