Cyberpunk 2077 Concurrent Player Count Tops 1 Million On Steam In A Day
At long last Cyberpunk 2077 has finally been released, and the game has become the talk of the town that is the gaming industry. While the game is reportedly having several bugs on the console versions of the game, not to mention the lack of proper warnings for those with photosensitivity issues, PC players have been able to enjoy the game in its highest quality performance. Naturally, launch day for the game was going to see a flood of players joining the action, but now data shows just how successful the launch day was. Steam data shows that the Cyberpunk 2077 concurrent player count has surpassed one million users.

Steam Database has shared the data that they have uncovered regarding the launch day of Cyberpunk 2077. According to Steam Database’s data, within the first 24 hours of the game’s availability on Steam, the Cyberpunk 2077 concurrent player count reached a peak of 1,003,264 concurrent players at one point. This is apparently a new record for most players simultaneously playing a single game on Steam in the service’s history. The previous record was held by Fallout 4 back in 2015, which had 472,962 concurrent players. The top concurrent count has only risen, as Cyberpunk 2077 has now reached a peak of 1,054,388 concurrent players since the initial 24 hours.
Cyberpunk 2077 concurrent livestream viewer numbers also seem to be doing quite well, as the first 24 hours saw a peak of 1,143,961 concurrent viewers on Twitch. It should be noted that the Steam Database numbers do not even take into account PC players on GOG or Epic Games, nor do the Twitch numbers include other livestream platforms like YouTube or Facebook Gaming. While it still has its issues, Cyberpunk 2077 is clearly a smash success already. While 2020 isn’t quite the Cyberpunk future the series originally envisioned, it can at least find this one victory for now. The future is Cyberpunk’s for the taking.
