Crash Team Racing Remake Announced With Epic New Trailer (VIDEO)
Excitement has filled the air this night thanks to The Game Awards 2018 and the many new game announcements that were made at the event. Some of these new announcements caught many by surprise, while others have been the subject of rumor for awhile. With the success of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, many have expected Activision to remake other beloved Crash Bandicoot games, namely Crash Team Racing, the inaugural kart-racing game for the franchise. Well, Activision has not disappointed fans, as they have officially announced the Crash Team Racing remake with a new trailer.
Sony has released the first official Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled trailer on their official PlayStation YouTube channel. The new game will be a remake of the original Crash Team Racing, using the new digital models of the Crash Bandicoot characters seen in the new N. Sane Trilogy. The game is only listed for release on PlayStation 4, but considering that the N. Sane was a PS4 exclusive at first, the racing remake could still come to other platforms. Along with this trailer, Activision released the following message from Thomas Wilson, Co-Sudio Head at Beenox:
The love that fans have for Crash Team Racing goes beyond just a fun kart racing game, and we’re excited to finally show fans what we’ve been working on to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Not only are we revamping Crash Team Racing from the kart up in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, we are giving fans a whole lot more including all the characters and tracks they love, with tons of added animations and personality that the original platform just couldn’t convey. We can’t wait to see fans go head-to-head as they test their Crash kart racing mettle in online multiplayer.”
