Call Of Duty: WWII Thanksgiving Double XP, New Map, And More Announced

Call of Duty: WWII Thanksgiving Double XP

Call of Duty: WWII may have gotten off to a rocky start, but Sledgehammer Games is continually working on getting their ducks in a row. Speaking of birds, the developer recently announced that the WWII Thanksgiving Double XP weekend has begun, allowing players to earn twice the amount of experience points via all multiplayer modes. The event is currently live and will run until 10 AM PST on Monday, November 27.

Also announced alongside the WWII Thanksgiving Double XP extravaganza was a new map. Well, it will be familiar to fans of the franchise, but it is new to this installment. Having appeared in a few entries over the years, Carentan will be getting a Winter upgrade as it arrives with the game’s initial Seasonal Community Event, appropriately titled “Winter Siege”. Set to kick off on Friday, December 8 at 10 AM PST, it will last throughout the entire month and offer up weekly rewards for players. More is expected to be revealed in the near future.

The first season of Ranked Play for console gamers has been given the start date of Friday, December 1. “Battle your way through the tiers to earn rewards based on your Season 1 ranking for the ultimate in competitive bragging rights!” It was also revealed that the emblem editor that was delayed on PC will be arriving alongside the Winter Siege event on December 8. Sledgehammer even mentioned a few fixes that they will be going over in an upcoming update:

Next week, we’ll have a game update that contains many important changes including map exploit fixes, UI improvements, fixes to issues with Party, connectivity optimizations, and more. Listening to fans and looking at global match data, we adjusted the BAR (increased recoil), reduced the flinch-reduction in the Primed Basic Training, fixed the “snaking” exploit while crouching and proning repeatedly, and fixed an important bug with the smoke grenade. We are currently play testing a reduced flinch over all weapon primaries, and will look to update once we verify the balance across all weapons remains.”

Call of Duty: WWII is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as we learn more about incoming changes to the title, and for other news, check out the following:
