Bully 2 Confirmed By GTA Online, Says New Theory
The school-based troublemaking of Rockstar Games’ Bully has long been speculated for a follow-up, especially in recent years when the studio seems much more inclined to deliver worthwhile sequels. Though nothing has ever been officially confirmed, rumors continue to spread across the internet suggesting everything from the emergence of screenshots to the game’s outright cancellation. One of the more recent pieces of speculation now says that Bully 2 has already been confirmed by fellow Rockstar title Grand Theft Auto Online.
Having recently put out one of its most substantial updates in recent memory, GTA Online users have been discovering all sorts of interesting easter eggs embedded in the game’s newly-opened Diamond Casino and Resort. A pretty overt reference to Bully can currently be found in the DLC’s in-game store, where players can purchase a table skin bearing the name ‘Canis Canem Edit’–the title that Bully goes by in the United Kingdom.

While this reference would appear to indicate Rockstar’s awareness of Bully 2 speculation, a decidedly cryptic theory has now premised a more substantial confirmation of the long-awaited sequel. A fan with the handle “lomeu_me” has looked deeper into this GTA Online reference to find a series of characters spelled out in Morse code: D-N-A-4. Seemingly spelling out a nonsense sequence, the user goes a step further by decreasing each character by two, the result spelling out “BLY2,” a shortened, four-letter variation of “Bully 2.”

Considering the leaps it takes to reach this conclusion, the aforementioned theory would appear to be pretty unbelievable and should go without saying to take with a heaping mound of salt. However, what may give this speculation the smallest inkling of credibility is Rockstar’s infamous penchant for easter eggs, a quality which could semi-believably compel the studio to hide a Bully 2 easter egg behind a wall of Morse code analysis. That being said, it’s still probably best not to read too much into this theory until an official announcement is made by Rockstar.
What do you think? Are you buying this Bully 2 theory, or do you feel that a sequel is on the way regardless of far-fetched speculation?
