Borderlands 3 Reportedly Slated For 2019 Release
With all of the excitement surrounding video game releases slated for the next year, it’s quite a bit to take in. Many big hitters will see a launch over the coming months, but one title remains a mystery to fans. Borderlands 3 is seemingly off the map when it comes to potential release time frames, but that might be changing in the relatively near future.
Coming from YouTube channel The Triple S League, they’ve stated that two independent sources have confirmed localization has begun on Borderlands 3, which is a step that typically appears towards the end of the development process. This is usually when a developer will tweak some settings, prepare a game for various languages, and polish it for release. The channel even mentions that their sources have stated localization has been going on for a few months at this point.
Gearbox and 2K haven’t been nearly as vocal about the project as many have hoped, but that could all be changing very soon. If Borderlands 3 is truly going to see a launch in 2019, we could very well hear about it by the end of this year. The Game Awards is well known for featuring big announcements, so December might be the target for a trailer reveal.
That said, all of this should be taken with a grain of salt. However, it’s pointed out by The Triple S League that 2K stated in an earnings call that a “highly-anticipated” title is slated for release during the fiscal year of 2020. That would be from April 2019 to March 2020. Needless to say, it’s been six years since Borderlands 2 was unleashed on the world – is our wait for the next installment nearly over? Only time will tell.
Borderlands 3 has no release date as of now, but is surely in development for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Who knows, maybe Nintendo Switch players will also be getting a version of their own.
