Borderlands 3 Pre-Orders Pulled From Epic Games Store During Epic Mega Sale
The Epic Games Store recently kicked off their first big sale that has brought many discounts to the games available on the platform as well as a bonus $10 off any game $14.99 and up, courtesy of Epic Games themselves. In addition to this, pre-orders for upcoming titles were also part of the discounted fun, including the likes of Borderlands 3. Unfortunately, the pre-orders for the upcoming Gearbox game were quickly pulled from the store without explanation, but 2K has officially provided a statement.
Sadly, 2K did not provide a reason as to why they pulled Borderlands 3 pre-orders from the Epic Games Store, but it would definitely appear that they followed in the footsteps of a few publisher before them. “We are working closely with Epic and have temporarily removed Borderlands 3 from their storefront,” 2K said in a statement to Eurogamer. “We look forward to the game being back on the Epic Games store soon. Games bought during their Mega Sale will be honored at that price.”
It is definitely unfortunate for gamers that some publishers have decided not to take part in the Epic Mega Sale, especially when it comes to the highly anticipated Borderlands 3. Thankfully, however, they will be honoring the pre-orders with the $10 taken off. When the ability to pre-order the game will return to the Epic Games Store is anyone’s guess, but it’s likely it won’t be back until after the sale, which ends on June 13th.
Borderlands 3 is set to arrive on September 13th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
