Black Lightning and Mortal Kombat’s Raiden Arrive on Injustice 2 Roster (VIDEO)

Black Lightning

Mortal Kombat fans, your lightning god has traveled to the DC universe and has officially landed himself a spot on the Injustice 2 roster. Raiden isn’t the only new face to appear in the lineup of NetherRealm’s latest fighter. DC’s Black Lightning is also available as a premium skin for Raiden.

Raiden is available now for those that own the Digital Deluxe and Ultimate editions of Injustice 2. He is part of the second wave of downloadable characters dubbed Fighter Pack 2, and can be purchased on October 6th. Black Lightning is also available as a premium skin and will utilize Raiden’s move set. As with all other premium skins, players will not be able to change the appearance of Black Lightning through gear, but the stat changes rewarded from equipping gear will be applied.

To give Raiden and Black lightning a little more separation, NetherRealm did make a few changes to the Super Move. While Raiden’s looks and feels like Mortal Kombat fan service, that wouldn’t necessarily fit for Black Lightning, so the changes were definitely justified. You can check out a side by side comparison of both characters’ Super Moves below:

Raiden’s arrival on Injustice 2 is just in time for the 25th anniversary of the Mortal Kombat franchise on October 8th. NetherRealm plans to have a party during this year’s New York Comic Con. It wouldn’t be surprising to hear any announcements coming from the studio, so stay tuned to DFTG for any information that may come.

Injustice 2 is available now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (and possibly coming to PC in the near future). The first character revealed for Fighter Pack 3 can be read about here.
