Bethesda Won't Hold A Digital Event In June To Replace E3 Presentation

While the cancellation of E3 2020 is an unfortunate necessity given the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, many game developers have already stepped up to the plate and committed to their own digital events in order to replace their planned live showcases. Still, not every outlet is looking to make up for lost opportunities, with Bethesda being the latest developer to join the growing list.

Bethesda senior vice president of marketing and communication, Pete Hines, recently took to Twitter to issue a statement regarding Bethesda’s upcoming plans, which apparently do not include a digital showcase to recoup the presence the company could have garnered from E3 2020. “Given the many challenges we’re facing due to the pandemic, we will not host a digital showcase in June,” said Hines. “We have lots of exciting things to share about our games and look forward to telling you more in the coming months.”

Given that Hines’ statement was made roughly in the middle of the day on April 1st, many thought his statement was made in jest. That said, there has been no followup made by Hines since his original post, so at this point we can only hope for some news regarding some of our long-awaited arrivals in “the coming months,” as he put it.
