Battlefront 2’s Content is Projected to be Three Times Larger Than Its Predecessor
Fans of the last Battlefront were a little let down when they dove in to the game only to find that content was severely lacking. During the post-earnings conference, EA CEO Andrew Wilson discussed many things and among them was the subject of Battlefront 2’s content. Here is what he had to say at the start:
Through FY19 and beyond, our portfolio will continue to grow. There will be more new experiences for our Battlefield fans, our Star Wars action-adventure IP from Visceral will make its debut, and farther out, we’ll have a new Star Wars title from our partners at Respawn. We continue to invest deeply in new IP, including the new game from BioWare and another project from our Motive studio.”
While the dialogue lacks clarity as to whether or not these “new experiences” will mean support for Battlefield 1 after the next game is released or new titles in the franchise, fans of this title can likely expect to continue to enjoy the support. Wilson did discuss Battlefront 2 further as the conference continued, touching on what they hope to bring to the game. One thing consistently repeated by the CEO has been that feedback from fans was taken seriously and is a huge contributor to Battlefront 2’s content. The major factor being more, but especially a focus on a single-player campaign in development by Motive.
This attention to fan feedback has lead the company to boasting that Battlefront 2’s content would be three times that of its predecessor. More features, characters, places, and overall content would be appreciated and from EA’s confidence about the title it is likely that fans will enjoy the next installment. EA is hoping to ship more copies than Battlefront did in its first year (some 14 million) and expects the game will appeal to Battlefront and the Star Wars fandom at large.
Battlefront 2’s content can be experienced by fans on November 17th when the game releases. There will be exclusive content from The Last Jedi for those who pre-order that includes costumes and ships. The game is expected to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
