Battle Royale – it’s everywhere. The likes of H1Z1, PUBG, and Fortnite have sparked an international phenomenon, and it only continues to grow now that major franchises are hopping on the bandwagon. Most notably, both Call of Duty and Battlefield have revealed that the massively popular mode will be part of each series’ respective 2018 installment. When it comes to Battlefield V, however, it may have recently been unveiled that DICE isn’t in charge of the Battle Royale aspect.

One Redditor recently took to the Star Wars Battlefront subreddit to dish out a bit of words that they seemed all too sure about. Their purpose was to “remind” fans that some Battlefront 2 devs were transferred over to the Battlefield V Battle Royale team. DICE community manager Ben “F8RGE” Walker was kind enough to correct the internetonian, saying:

Well, that seems to settle that. Unfortunately, that’s where the community manager left it. Since DICE is not handling the Battle Royale for the upcoming Battlefield V, who is? There is a strong possibility that another EA studio was tasked with it, but who would be a good fit for that kind of project? Did they entrust a third party with it? Sadly, only time will tell.
