Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 2 Re-Release “On The Table,” Says Devs
The classic fantasy dungeon crawling of Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance recently saw new life as the game was finally re-released for modern consoles this past week. While the resurgence was sure to please fans of the 19-year old action RPG, the release was also sure to inspire questions regarding an eventual re-release of its sequel Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 2. While it’s obviously too soon for something like that to happen, it appears Black Isle Studios has at least been thinking about the idea in the meantime.
PC release is in the works right now. Hoping to have it on Steam this year.
And the sequel is on the table. Stay tuned!

In a reply left on social media, the developer acknowledged fan desire for a sequel re-release, assuring fans that Dark Alliance 2 is “on the table,” and to “stay tuned” for more information in the future. This response may not be 100% confirmation, but it does present a small glimmer of hope for the follow-up to hit modern platforms. As the 2004 title has long been locked to the PS2 and original Xbox, a new release would surely be a welcome sight for those interested in continuing the adventure from the first game.
In addition to queries about the RPG sequel, fans have also taken to Black Isle’s Twitter feed with queries regarding future ports of the original Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance. While the game is currently available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles with 4K support for next-gen consoles, the classic release is still awaiting a release for PC as well as Nintendo Switch – the latter notably missing its intended launch. While it’s still unknown exactly what happened, the devs confirmed they are continuing to work on a fix.
Still working on the eShop issue. We will update everyone when we know more.
