Bablyons Fall Gets Its First Gameplay Trailer At State Of Play (VIDEO)

After over a year since it was originally announced at E3 2018, the PlatinumGames and Square Enix title Babylon’s Fall has finally received its very first gameplay trailer. Revealed during today’s Sony State of Play, the trailer provides an “early look” at the latest game from the same studio that brought us NieR: Automata.

The new trailer is by no means short on action, showing off some impressive visuals while reminding folks that this is the same developer that created both NieR: Automata and Bayonette, with a few shots being particularly reminiscent of how 2B attacks her opponents before having her weapons return to their floating position behind her back. Going back in time a bit farther (hah), the environments shown are also quite reminiscent of what is shown in the cel-shaded Prince of Persia. Check out the full trailer below:

Exciting as the trailer may be, Babylon’s Fall is still quite a ways off. “A ground breaking project developed in partnership with renowned action specialists PlatinumGames Inc. (NieR:Automata),” the video’s description reads. “Keep your eyes open for more information about BABYLON’S FALL next summer!” Since we won’t be hearing more until around the middle of next year, chances are we’ll probably be looking at a release window of early 2021. Here’s hoping the title gets its due despite seemingly releasing  right around the arrival of the next-gen consoles.

Babylon’s Fall is currently in development.
