That being said, the latest Infinity War trailer plays right into that, giving fans an even deeper look into what the past 18 Marvel films have been building towards.

The new Infinity War trailer shows all of our favorite heroes coming from every corner of the universe to stop one seemingly unstoppable baddie: Thanos. On a quest to destroy said universe, the Mad Titan is aiming to collect all of the Infinity Stones, which will give him the power to see his crazy plans come to fruition. It’s up to the titular heroes to put an end to Thanos, but it won’t be easy. Needless to say, things are about to get really real in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Check out the new trailer below:

For those not in the know, here’s what the upcoming superhero film is all about:

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.”

Avengers: Infinity War was originally scheduled for release on May 4, 2018, but will now appear in theaters on April 27 instead. This is likely due to the Deadpool sequel also being moved up, now expected to arrive on May 18.
