Here’s the List of August Xbox Game Pass Titles – Limbo, Dead Rising 3, and More!

August Xbox Game Pass titles

The Xbox Game Pass subscription service seems to have gotten off to a decent start after having launched on June 1 with over 100 titles in its library. For only $9.99 a month, that’s quite a bit of gaming that could potentially go down. Now that the August Xbox Game Pass update has arrived, players have a look at which titles will be coming to the service on the first of the month. Of course, make sure your rent is paid before dropping ten bucks, but if you haven’t signed up yet, you’re in luck. A 14-day free trial is up for grabs to all newcomers. Without further ado, let’s jump into that list of the August Xbox Game Pass titles!

2015’s DiRT Rally will be racing into the subscription service with its bounty of courses and automobiles from over the past five and a half decades. If you enjoy racing and/or getting cars dirty, this title might be right up your alley. However, if racing isn’t your thing and you’ve looking to try it out, there will be plenty of tutorials to help along the way.

After you’ve hit the dirt with some wicked cars, it’s time to take on hordes of zombies in Dead Rising 3. Released in 2013, this game allows players to get crafty with their weapons, offering endless ways in which the undead can become re-deceased. Team up with some friends or go it alone, but if you’ve already enjoyed this title in the past, you better be rejoining the fight in Nightmare Mode.

Next up is Limbo, the critically-acclaimed, award-winning 2D puzzle-platformer that took the gaming world by storm when it hit the Xbox Live Arcade back in 2010. Developed by Playdead, the game follows a young boy with no name as he travels through a mysterious and dark forest. Encountering things that go bump in the night and solving puzzles along the way, he must find his lost sister. The black and white art style truly adds to the ambiance and only enhances one’s experience as they navigate towards the light. Some might argue that this is a must-play game for any fan of the genre.

Next up for the August Xbox Game Pass titles is Puppy Games’ Ultratron. Fans of classic arcade shooters are sure to enjoy this game from 2013. With its inspiration roots deeply in the old-school Robotron 2084, the two-stick gameplay is bound to bring a bit of nostalgia to players. Be sure not to die, though, because you’ll be restarting from the beginning if you do. Fight wave after wave of the enemy as you further your quest to avenge the human race. This title received criticism upon its initial release for being on the shorter side, so don’t expect to take up too much of your time with it.

Origo Games’ So Many Me will see Filo replicate himself again and again to take on an ancient evil that threatens his world. “Every level in So Many Me tasks you with solving three complex puzzles, which is a mission made easier as you acquire new and different power-ups. As you progress, the puzzles only get more challenging, making each solution that much sweeter to discover.”

Before the next title in the Assassin’s Creed franchise hits the market, you might want to brush up on kicking some serious rear-ends in ancient Egypt in Milkstone Studios’ Pharaonic. Classified as “an unforgiving sidescrolling Combat-RPG”, this game will surely put players to the test as they navigate their way through the dangers that lurk about to find the Red Pharaoh. “Only the most audacious warriors will have any chance of success. The Pharaoh’s army and countless dangerous creatures will stand in your way.”

Last but certainly not least, the August Xbox Game Pass offers up some glorious arcade action with Metal Slug XX. Originally titled Metal Slug 7, developer Atlus re-released the game with additional content in 2009-2010. The title eventually made its way to Xbox and has even found itself on the backwards compatible list. Metal Slug 3 is already available with the Game Pass, so now you’ll be able to run-and-gun with a friend or by yourself for twice as long.

What say you, gamers? Does the August Xbox Game Pass update hold any title you’re excited to play? How are you liking the subscription service so far?
