Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Reveals Medusa In New Cinematic Trailers (VIDEO)

Ubisoft is headed to ancient Greece in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and the game will present one of the most authentic representations of the setting yet. Players will have the ability to interact with the Greek locals, navigate the ocean via ship, and even take part in a few R-rated exploits. Driving along this featureful adventure is one of two protagonists, Kassandra or Alexios, who lead the charge to save all of Greece when the entire region is locked in the midst of war.

Taking from each character’s point of view, Gamescom 2018 has premiered two trailers that provide a cinematic showcase of assassin happenings at the hands of our heroes as well as the intense dangers that await them along the way. This apparently includes the stony gaze of Medusa and the oodles of snakes that implies. Check out the trailers below.

Supernatural forces aren’t anything new in the Assassin’s Creed series, as Origins‘ recently introduced a cursed pharaoh into the Egyptian mix. The presence of mythological beings is a far cry from the original games, when the most supernatural aspect was Ezio’s otherworldly swagger. However, this relaxed reliance on realism is not at all a bad thing, as it now allows us a fight with freaking Medusa, for starters! Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will launch for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 5th.
