Arena Of Valor MOBA Headed To Nintendo Switch This Fall, Closed Beta Begins Soon (VIDEO)

Last year marked the announcement that Tencent Games’ Arena of Valor will be heading to the the Nintendo Switch as the first ever MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) to grace the hybrid console. Though it may be the first, it’s unlikely to be the last. First launched in 2015 for mobile and recognized under the name of Kings of Glory in China, Arena of Valor pits 10 players in teams of five to capture territories and defeat enemies. The more kills and objectives completed, the better. Since then, it has become a wildly popular mobile game in the West, clocking in over 300-thousand reviews and a 4.4-star rating.

Arena of Valor won’t be arriving until later this year in Fall 2018, but anticipating fans can expect a closed beta arriving soon. Available for adults over 16 years of age or older, players can participate in a closed beta for AoV by signing up here. It will run from June 28th to July 12th, giving folks a full two weeks to try it out and give the developers insightful feedback. The port to the Nintendo Switch will host new features that differentiates itself from the mobile version including enhanced graphics, customizable controls for the Joy-Cons, and more.

Players can test out over 30 heroes at a modest 45 frames per second and 900p resolution, but fear not – Tencent plans to optimize the game to reach 60 fps and 1080p resolution. The full roster will be available to test during the closed beta that allows both European and North American servers to have joint participation. This is the second beta Tencent has hosted in preparation for the Nintendo Switch release, but it will be the first time both regions will come together head-to-head.
