Anthem Recap: Character Customization, Story Progression, And Much More Revealed (VIDEO)

Anthem

As 2019 approaches, gamers everywhere are preparing for the release of BioWare’s next big IP. Anthem will take players into a sci-fi world of wonder where they can either go it alone or team up with friends to progress through the story, completing mission, taking down the opposition, and just having a ton of fun while doing it. Many have their reservations about the title, especially after the release of Mass Effect: Andromeda, but that isn’t stopping the developer from trying their best to show everyone what they’re made of.

During a panel at this year’s PAX West event, BioWare took a deep dive into the world of Anthem, highlighting what players can expect from its story progression, the character customizability found in the title, and so much more. They were even kind enough to show a trailer that highlights these aspects of the upcoming game, which you can view for yourself below:

The trailer, titled “Our World, My Story” puts the focus on narrative. As anyone who has ever played such BioWare franchises as Mass Effect or Dragon Age knows, the developer means business when it comes to spinning a tale for the ages. While Anthem will be bringing the heat in the combat department, the video above clearly demonstrates that the title will also be giving players a plethora of options regarding how they play out their stories. A short description was also given with the above footage, which reads:

At the heart of Anthem is the concept of Our World, My Story – the distinctive combination of a shared, dynamic world and a personal story. Discover how these two elements help create a connected world that remains unique to every player.”

As noted in the trailer above, choices will definitely have consequences, especially when hanging around the central hub known as Fort Tarsis. This is where gamers will encounter a myriad of NPCs to accept missions from, interact with, and much more. That’s, of course, when they aren’t off taking on ancient beasts and discovering everything possible. Needless to say, there is going to be quite a lot for players to uncover and explore in Anthem, and we are excited to dive right in.

Anthem is set to arrive on February 22, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
