Amnesia Collection Confirmed For Xbox One

Amnesia Collection Xbox One

The Amnesia series has been a source of scares for many horror aficionados, and that has amounted in huge success for developer Frictional Games. Having a trilogy of terror on their hands in The Dark Descent, Justine, and A Machine for Pigs, the whole set of games was released for PlayStation 4 in 2016 as the Amnesia Collection. While this was an awesome deal for those on the Sony system, Xbox One users were left hanging with their horror fix intact.

That’s all about to change as Microsoft has finally confirmed a release for Amnesia Collection. While this news is a happy occasion for patient fans, the specific launch date has provided a point of confusion as of late. After being announced, it was thought the pulse-pounding survival games would arrive on August 31st, but the entry was replaced soon after with a message explaining the release has been removed, suggesting a delay.

We’ve removed the release date on this entry. We’ll have more news to share soon for Amnesia: Collection on Xbox One.”

This delay was confirmed with Frictional as well, but not without also teasing something arriving in the near future. “More news” in addition to “a special treat” was confirmed for the date of September 7th, a full week after August 31st.

The September 7th date may be interesting for fans as it coincides with the eve of the first game’s 8-year anniversary (September 8th). This placing could perhaps be a coincidence, but announcing a next-day release for the 8th would likely provide a fitting replacement date for launch. Speculation aside, we suppose we’ll only know what’s happening for sure when that “treat” takes place on September 7th.
