Amazon’s Lord Of The Rings Series Releases First Trailer (VIDEO)

Lord of the Rings

This year’s Super Bowl made for an interesting game, bringing with it a nostalgic halftime show as well as multiple commercials and ads for a variety of products. Among those glorious Super Bowl commercials was a brief trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, bringing forth another cinematic Tolkien experience.

After years of expectations and several weeks of teasing, Amazon has now offered the first look at its Lord of the Rings series, the first trailer to be precise, and while it doesn’t show off all that much, it seems certainly enough to get fans all hot and capture the vast world of Middle Earth franchise, filled with wonder and mystery. Tolkien’s work has a vast array of stories and history beyond what fans may have read from the Hobbit or the Lord of the Rings. Tolkien was also incredibly good at setting the stage for readers, giving incredible descriptions to help fans really get a clear picture of each scene, and this seems to be translated quite well within the trailer.

From the opening shot of a coastal cityscape to the wide rolling hills featuring two humanoid figures carrying massive antlers, or even a scene featuring an awe-inspiring waterfall the creators did quite well re-imagining the landscapes. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power trailer also featured some action shots of various characters such as an elven character who catches an arrow before using it to return fire on an unseen enemy or a large monster roaring at its humanoid prey.

There’s a lot of potential that could be seen throughout the trailer, though not enough to really give fans an idea of what kind of story they’ll be in for when the series debuts on September 2nd of this year.
