Halloween season is in full swing, and with it comes special limited-time events for many of our favorite MMORPG’s. For Destiny 2, this means the arrival of its Halloween-esque ‘Festival of the Lost’ event that first debuted in the Bungie game back in 2017. This year’s event is similarly jam-packed with goodies, though the denizens of the newly bedecked Tower are also giving pause to honor their fallen comrades.

First up on the Halloween to-do list is the Haunted Forest, wherein Guardians are tasked with clearing out its “ghouls and demons,” which honestly sounds pretty spooky. Solo players and Fireteams are given 15 minutes to “dive as deep as you can” into the forest, with increasingly more difficult enemies appearing the further you go.

There are, of course, treats to go along with the latest Destiny 2 event’s tricks. Players can earn special rewards from Amanda Holliday and by completing the Festival of the Lost Triumphs. Additionally, players can earn an Ephemeral Engram each time they fill their XP bar after reaching the max character level. Since this reward is in addition to the normal Steadfast Engram, this means that players are getting double Bright Engrams during the Festival of the Lost event. Players will also be able to purchase Ephemeral Engrams from Tess Everis in the tower.

While Cayde-6 is still on the forefront of every Guardian’s mind, the Nathan Fillion-voiced Exo isn’t the only recent casualty. Master Ives, the Cryptarch of the Vestian Outpost was also recently struck down, and players will be tasked – towards the end of the event – with finding Ives’ killers. Players will be able to partake in the quest starting on Tuesday October 30th, and can acquire an additional powerful reward each week after that.

The Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost event begins on Tuesday, October 16, and runs until Tuesday, November 6 at 10AM PST. Destiny 2 is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
