Ubisoft’s Latest and Last Free Game Offered for ‘Ubi30’ Released for PC
If you recall, it was announced early in November that the next free game in Ubisoft’s 30th birthday celebration was Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. We are now nearing the end of the Ubi30 giveaway, and Ubisoft has treated us with the biggest and most impressive title yet for the grand finale. Starting on December 7th, members of the Ubisoft Club will be able to get Assassins Creed 3 at no cost.

Upon release, Assassins Creed 3 received a decent amount of accolades, and a good bit of criticism too. Fans were excited to see a new setting, centered around the American Revolutionary War, and many familiar names and faces from their history classes were brought to life in a big way. Some were disappointed to leave the beloved character Etzio, and branded the new protagonist, Conner, as boring or unpalatable. Despite these concerns, Assassins Creed 3 is comprehensively great, and is an absolutely integral part of the story of Desmond Miles.
Assassins Creed 3 also did quite a few first for the series. For the first time, we were able to use a rudimentary form of the “corner cover” system, and players could utilize more of the environment for staying mobile, while maintaining stealth. Most notably, Assassins Creed 3 introduced the first foray into nautical combat, which eventually fleshed itself out into an entire game through the direct sequels Assassins Creed 4 and Assassins Creed Rogue.
If you were unable to pick up Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, you’ve still got a good bit of time, as the game will be available for download all the way up to December 7th, but tie a string around your finger to remember, because it certainly shouldn’t be passed up, especially for free.
Even if you’ve already played Assassins Creed 3, there’s no harm in expanding your library and with the staggering amount of content in the game, you’ll definitely get a lot of bang for zero bucks.
Let us know in the comments if you’re going to grab your copy of the game and stick around on DFTG for more info on giveaways and sweet deals as we get closer to the holiday season.
