Final Fantasy VI Behind The Scenes Reveals Texture Magic And Off Camera Secrets (VIDEO)

Final Fantasy VI

Final Fantasy VI is a game that is near and dear to the hearts of many, a title arguably just as popular as the legendary Final Fantasy VII. Of course, games made during that day and age needed to enact some wizardy in order to make sure players were being shown the correct things on-screen at the correct times. Enter Boundary Break Youtuber Shesez, who peels back the curtain on Final Fantasy VI to reveal how Square Enix fashioned the game into the JRPG we all know and love. Check out the video below:

The video itself is very interesting to watch, as it even delves into just how the developer gave the game’s logo those cool little flames. Shesez also looks into how the textures are laid out in the overworld, and how each layer is set up to give players the illusion of moving their character sprites. Those looking to play through FFVI once more can do so any number of ways, including the port now available on Steam.

Final Fantasy VI

The War of Magi left little but ashes and misery in its wake. Even magic itself had vanished from the world. Now, a thousand years later, humankind has remade the world through the power of iron, gunpowder, steam engines, and other machines and technologies.

But there is one who possesses the lost power of magic–a young girl name Terra whom the evil Empire has kept enslaved in an effort to harness her power as weapon. This leads to a fateful meeting between Terra and a young man named Locke. Their harrowing escape from the Empire’s clutches sets in motion a series of events that touches countless lives and leads to one inevitable conclusion.
