Alan Wake Developer’s Game P7 Confirmed For 2019 Release
It’s been a while since new information dropped regarding the mysterious P7 project by Alan Wake and Quantum Break developer Remedy Entertainment. Last we heard, the title is set to be published by 505 Games and branch out from previous Microsoft exclusivity, offering experiences on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Now, the company has revealed a few new details about their upcoming game P7, including a 2019 release.
Remedy has released a financial report that shines a few lumens of light on their current projects, which includes single-player work on CrossFire 2, further updates on P7 and development on an unknown third title. P7 is said to have ended its pre-production phase and has “progressed according to [their] plans”. Remedy seems confident enough with current progress to line up a release window, which is expected to be in 2019.
Details also confirm a few bits of previously revealed information such as a multi-platform release, a publishing agreement with 505 Games, and a strong storytelling focus using a further enhanced Northlight engine. It was also reiterated that multiplayer would become a big focus with Northlight, suggesting that P7 would also utilize online modes and capabilities.
While these new details don’t exactly paint a distinct picture, the reveal of a smooth development and 2019 release does mean more substantial details, including a proper name, should be on the way soon. After that, it’ll probably be time to speculate on Remedy’s other upcoming mystery game (P8?). Until then, P7 is set to release in 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
