UPDATE: PewDiePie uploaded a video addressing the situation, calling Logan a “straight up sociopath”:

Most people on the internet have likely seen by now that YouTuber Logan Paul has landed himself in some rather hot water. In a recent vlog, Paul and company were travelling through the Japanese forest of Aokigahara, otherwise known as the “Suicide Forest.” In the since-deleted video, Logan and his crew come across a hanging body and actually show it in frame. The video, before being removed, garnered over six million views, but the backlash was swift. Many have expressed outrage, while others have come to the defense of the controversial YouTuber. However, somebody else that is rather versed in the act of causing uproar on the platform took a different approach.

Felix Kjellberg, more popularly known by his handle PewDiePie, stepped in to offer a different take on Logan Paul’s video. Instead of condemning his fellow YouTuber, or even offering up a few words of advice, PewDiePie took the opportunity to mock Paul and his vlog. Take a look for yourself below:

PewDiePie, of course, is implying that Logan knew exactly what he was doing when he filmed, edited, and uploaded the controversial video. He, among others, likely believes that Paul was simply doing it for views. While this may be true, monetization couldn’t possibly have been going through the YouTuber’s mind, as the contents of the video clearly violated the company’s rules.

Since deleting the video, Logan has offered his apologies, stating that he wasn’t doing it for the views, but to raise awareness. “I get views. I did it because I thought I could make a positive ripple on the internet, not cause a monsoon of negativity. That’s never the intention. I intended to raise awareness for suicide and suicide prevention and while I thought ‘if this video saves just ONE life, it’ll be worth it,’ I was misguided by shock and awe, as portrayed in the video,” he stated in the tweet.
