MediEvil Remaster

The PlayStation Experience 2017 pre-show opening celebration featured a few surprises intermingled with new trailers and gameplay demos, though nothing was truly shocking until the final minutes. At the tail end of the presentation it was announced that a MediEvil remaster is in the works for the PlayStation 4, featuring our favorite undead skeleton knight Sir Daniel Fortesque in 4K visuals. The reveal was accompanied by a 35-second hype trailer that absolutely did its job in getting us pumped for the remaster. Check out the reveal trailer below:

The action-adventure hack and slash title MediEvil is admittedly a very, very old game, with its release date going all the way back to October 1998. Developed by Guerrilla Cambridge and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the title featured undead protagonist Sir Daniel Fortesque, who dies probably twenty seconds into the opening cinematic that kicks off the game. But that’s where the fun begins. The synopsis of the title, as well as what to expect from it, can be found below.

Challenge the powers of darkness and untold magic as Sir Daniel Fortesque returns from the grave to battle an evil sorcerer’s plans of demise. (As if being dead wasn’t bad enough!) Follow the mystical trail of darkness and land in the journey of a lifetime.”

MediEvil Features:

  • A mighty arsenal of weapons awaits: swords, daggers, crossbows, hammers, the occasional chicken drumstick and more!
  • Fiendish puzzles and riddles to solve.
  • Ghoulish enemies that will strike fear in the bravest of players.
  • A spine-tingling soundtrack.

So, thoughts on the upcoming MediEvil remaster? Looking forward to seeing Sir Daniel Fortesque in glorious 4K visuals?
