New Dragon Ball FighterZ Trailer Shows “Forbidden” Story + First Look at Collector’s Edition! (VIDEO)

New Dragon Ball FighterZ news just keeps pouring in. When we here at DFTG first got our hands on this title at this year’s E3, we were beyond excited to see the classic style to our beloved Dragon Ball franchise. With the events in Germany kicking off for Gamescom, even more Dragon Ball goodness has rolled in with not only a brand new trailer showing off Trunks, Android 18, and more in action – but also a spiffy new collector’s edition to boot! Check out the latest trailer in the video below:

The epic new trailer sees fan favourites such as Android 18 and Piccolo (don’t forget about our cherished Trunks) in the heat of battle to show off some of their moves. The video above also gives a little more insight into the title’s story mode, which has remained under lock and key until now. For those particularly fond of Android 18, you’ll also see that she’s accompanied by Android 17 during key attacks.

The story mode doesn’t make its appearance until near the end of the trailer. The narrative driven by this title shows off a “forbidden” storyline completely unique to the new Dragon Ball FighterZ. For this story, Android 16 makes a comeback with the purpose of fighting Goku and the battle against the gang is a bloody one, one that sees quite a few loved characters fall.

That’s not all for the new Dragon Ball FighterZ however. A brand new collector’s edition has also been revealed (which can be seen in the image at the top) and the statue included is nothing short of amazing, especially for die-hard fans. The collector’s edition itself will retail for $140 and includes:

  • Dragon Ball FighterZ
  • 7″ statue of Goku with “exclusive manga-dimension’ colouring”
  • Exclusive steel book
  • Three art boards

For those that pre-order the new Dragon Ball FighterZ, they will receive two characters to unlock early: Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta. Dragon Ball FighterZ will be releasing on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 in early 2018, no set release date has been give at this time. The registration for the beta is also open and can be registered right here.
